Nissan is working hard to realise its Ambition 2030 vision to empower mobility and beyond. Our goal is to usher in a future where mobility will be cleaner, safer, and more inclusive and Nissan's people sit at the very heart of delivering this vision.

For Nissan in the AMIEO region (Africa, Middle East, India, Europe, and Oceania), we believe our strength lies in our diversity. Representing 140 markets and a rich tapestry of cultures and people, the AMIEO region is vast and beautifully complex. Ensuring that this diversity is represented and nurtured within our 19,000-strong workforce will be key to our success in a rapidly changing world.

Our journey towards a truly diverse and inclusive workforce started last year with the creation of a dedicated Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Council. Comprising individuals from all levels of the business, the Council is driving the DEI agenda in the region from the ground up. Now, we have taken the next step with our new DEI manifesto.

Putting our promises and commitment to our people on paper, the AMIEO DEI manifesto is designed to ensure that the region embodies the principles of DEI in everything we do.

The Manifesto:

"A DEI manifesto is not only a powerful tool but a 'must have' for businesses in today's world," says Friederike Kienitz, Chairperson of the Nissan AMIEO Diversity Council and Senior Vice President, Sustainability, Corporate Affairs and Governance, Nissan AMIEO.

"The manifesto will ensure our workplace is truly inclusive of all lifestyles, genders, and backgrounds to increase diversity, enhance creativity and answer to a wider range of needs in society. Feeling valued for your differences and knowing that you belong at work should be a given. It also increases productivity and makes life so much more interesting. I am thrilled to see our DEI manifesto come to life!"

A Continuous Journey

Delivering a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment for all is a continuous journey. Sharing the region's DEI Manifesto is an important step in confirming the direction we are going, reinforcing our promises to our people and will help keep us accountable. This, however, is just the start. We look forward to sharing more of the actions we will take in the coming months and years to leverage and promote the power of diversity in Nissan AMIEO and pave the way to a brighter future for all.
