Driven to Give Back: Nissan Employees Powering Community Change

Giving back isn’t just a corporate initiative at Nissan, it’s part of who we are.

At Nissan’s Sunderland Plant, corporate social responsibility (CSR) is more than a programme, it’s a movement led by our team. From supporting causes that are meaningful to them, to applying their skills and leading initiatives, Nissan volunteers are driving change in the communities they care about.

Meet Ellie Alderson (Engineering Department) and Claire Wright (Finance Department), the EV36Heroes leading these efforts. Ellie and Claire have transformed Nissan’s community outreach approach, fostering a culture where employees take the lead and make a real difference.

Whether it’s helping foodbanks deliver meals to families faster, turning overgrown parks into thriving green spaces, or revitalising local schools, Nissan employees are rolling up their sleeves to create lasting change. Local schools, charities and community centres have felt the impact firsthand, with Nissan employees building strong, lasting relationships and always being ready to step up to the next challenge.

Aligned with Nissan’s EV36Zero vision, our CSR efforts play a key role in sustainability, inclusion, and social impact, ensuring our footprint extends beyond the factory floor. Nissan employees aren’t just shaping the future, they’re out there, making it happen. Stay tuned for more inspiring stories of people driving change, on the road, at work, and beyond!
